Vicky Power, Multi Systemic Therapy, Service Delivery Manager

Vicky Power is a Service Delivery Manager for the Multi Systemic Therapy Service in Christchurch

What attracted me to working for Richmond… "Was a recommendation from a friend to approach the organisation.”

Compared to my initial expectations, my experience so far in working for Richmond… "I had no expectations. For me it was about offering young people that have been "marginalised" a non-discriminatory environment where they feel included.”

What I like most about working for Richmond… "Is the great support from my team and colleagues and working in a strength based service that has an impact on practice and the service we provide.”

The biggest highlight of your career at Richmond so far… "Is becoming an MST Supervisor.”

What I love about the job… "Is the flexibility and the sharing of skills and knowledge with others.  I enjoy working in collaboration with other  services and how the Clinicians do ‘whatever it takes’ to obtain good outcomes.  Most of all - Multi Systemic Therapy can make a difference with whanau and families we work with.”

A typical day might involve… "Prioritising tasks and attending team briefs and meetings; liaising with clinicians, referral agencies and MST consultants, along with being prepared for any sudden changes!”

What I value the most about working for Richmond… "Is the organisation’s commitment to change for the benefit of whanau and families that we work with and the way Richmond encourages staff input into the change process. I also value the Intentional Practice Framework and how it impacts on the organisation’s service delivery.”

I would describe the learning and development opportunities at Richmond as… "Varied!. Opportunities include in-house training for Service Delivery Managers and the opportunity to attend training with other MST teams within New Zealand throughout the year.”
